Andra Blomkalns, MD, MBA
Dr. Andra Blomkalns is a nationally recognized leader in academic emergency medicine and has served as Chair of Emergency Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine since 2018.
A former President of the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine and current member of the Association of Academic Emergency Medicine Chairs Executive Committee, she has helped shape the field nationally.
At Stanford, Dr. Blomkalns has advanced initiatives in precision emergency medicine, artificial intelligence, diversity and inclusion, and climate health, while promoting innovation in patient care and research.
A Stanford Biodesign Faculty Fellowship alumna, her research focuses on Long COVID and cardiovascular and inflammatory pathways through her role with the NIH RECOVER Consortium. Throughout her career, including leadership positions at the University of Cincinnati and UT Southwestern, she has remained committed to mentoring future leaders in emergency medicine.
