Advanced Wilderness Life Support (AWLS) Course

December 3-5, 2021 (Stanford, CA - Winter 2021)

Advanced Wilderness Life Support® (AWLS) is a medical certification course that provides a practical foundation in Wilderness Medicine for medical professionals. The 3-day course teaches patient assessment and treatment guidelines enabling you to prevent and effectively manage emergency medical situations outside traditional medical facilities until definitive care or evacuation is available. Trainees also learn methods to manage medical and trauma emergencies and urgencies in the wilderness when evacuation is unavailable or unnecessary.

Stanford is located 35 miles south of San Francisco nestled between the Pacific Ocean and Santa Cruz Mountain to the west and the San Francisco Bay to the east. The course will be hosted on the beautiful 8,180-acre Stanford campus at the Arillaga Outdoor Education and Recreation Center. There are a number of lodging choices in the Palo Alto area.
