Marc and Laura Andreessen Emergency Department

The Stanford Marc and Laura Andreessen Emergency Department serves the San Mateo and Santa Clara County communities and receives 75k patients per year.

We are the only Level 1 Trauma Center between San Francisco and the South Bay and hold designations as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center. We are a transfer center for facilities across and beyond the state of California that need specialized expertise. Stanford has also been designated by the American College of Emergency Physicians as a Level 2 Geriatric ED in recognition of our best practices, education, resources and support for the special needs of our older patients. 

 

Stanford Pediatric Emergency Department

The newly-remodeled Stanford Marc and Laura Andreessen Pediatric Emergency Department offers comprehensive 24-hour emergency care that includes direct access to world-ranked pediatric specialists. Our "ouchless" pediatric ED is separate from our adult ED and serves as the emergency treatment facility for Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford, with approximately pediatric 29k patients each year.
