Housed in a dedicated 25-bed pediatric emergency department, our faculty provide 24-hour emergency care supported by world-renowned pediatric specialists.
As a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and Santa Clara County-designated Comprehensive Care Center, we care for the region's most complex pediatric emergencies while shaping the future of pediatric emergency medicine.
Our pediatric emergency physicians, nurses, and child life specialists are trained to meet the unique needs of infants, children, teens, and young adults. They provide expert emergency care while easing anxiety, communicating closely with families, collaborating with community physicians and Lucile Packard Children's Hospital specialists, and helping children understand procedures through age-appropriate education and support.

Opened in 2022 and expanded to 25 beds in 2024, Stanford's Marc and Laura Andreessen Pediatric Emergency Department combines a calming, child-centered environment with expert emergency care.
Board-certified pediatric emergency physicians, specialized nurses and technicians, and child life specialists provide comprehensive, 24-hour care for everything from everyday illnesses and injuries to major trauma and complex medical conditions. As a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, the ED also provides direct access to Stanford's pediatric specialists when advanced care is needed.
