Underrepresented Minority Medical Students
Stanford School of Medicine and the Department of Emergency Medicine recognize the power of diversity and its impact on the future of healthcare. As such, we are working with the Office of Medical Student Affairs to provide an exceptional opportunity for visiting medical students who are underrepresented in medicine to apply for our Emergency Medicine elective EMED 313A.
The Stanford Clinical Opportunity for Residency Experience (SCORE) Program, provides housing for underrepresented minorities, as well as a stipend for accepted medical student applicants throughout their month-long rotation in the Emergency Department.
In addition to the regular didactics, teaching sessions and clinical shifts, the students will be mentored throughout their month-long experience. We will also offer them their residency interview during this month.
Applications for Periods 11 and 12 of this academic calendar and Periods 1 through 7 of the 2017-18 academic year are ongoing. Click here for important date information.
