Advanced EM Summer Program

Join the Stanford Department of Emergency Medicine this summer for an exciting new program for high school students interested in Emergency Medicine.  Students will stay on the Stanford campus and engage directly with the Emergency Medicine faculty on a daily basis.  During the ten day course, students will participate in anatomy lab with real cadavers, learn how to properly perform rescue breaths and chest compressions, how to suture wounds, how to work as a team to stabilize a patient, and much more.   

2017 Highlights

Take a look at our first summer program for high school students interested in Emergency Medicine.
From July 5th-14th, 2017, 150 students stayed on campus and interacted with Stanford faculty as they learned about anatomy, suturing, ultrasounds, wilderness medicine, mass casualty situations and more.

Disaster Medicine

Clinical Ultrasound

Splinting and more!

Stanford Department of Emergency Medicine is thrilled to offer a select number of sponsorship positions for this program.  These positions are available for low-income and under-represented minority students from the local area who have shown academic excellence and an interest in a career in medicine.  Successful applicants will receive full tuition support for the program.
